Its very unfortunate that the NAACP could only get one GOP candidate to even attend their debates. Republicans understand the futility of investing time and money into a useless cause. Blacks have boxed themselves in and no longer have Democracy. I see more often local black candidates even running unopposed with no GOP rival which basically allows local party leaders to choose the winner in a back room. Blacks need to stop looking at racial issues in every peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Bottom line is NO " Black Leader" will ever become President of the United States. A leader of ALL AMERICA that just happens to be black will someday win and will most likely come from the GOP.

If he doesn't have a mind of his own and has to listen THATclosely to advisors then we don't need him. That is no excuse. I don't think the problem is his "advisors" that's just how Obama is himself. Wake up. Just because he's half black and the media pumps him up doesn't make him qualified. He hasn't even done any work in the Senate yet so how do we know what his capabilites are? I refuse to swoon over him just because he's 1/2 black. Every black person is not in our corner. Remember the ones that sold us over here to slavery?

Senator Obama may indeed be listening too much to his campaign advisors and may need to focus on issues complex and simple. Treading lightly on tough issues is not flattering to the American public. Nor is avoiding making 'the wrong' statements. There will be pros and cons to anything Senator Obama says and that is political reality.
However, it may be 'wise' to make sure that he does not give his opponents statements to attack.
The Democratic nomination is the prize and should Senator Obama stay focused on it he may do well to not try and cater to what 'advisors' say, rather he should stay focused and listen and respond to what the American people want in a presidential candidate. He must therefore speak to ALL the American people's concerns, wants and issues.
