Roland on CNN’s AC 360 tonight

Ya Know Roland. I am really disappointed in Obama’s treatment of women’s issues, or nontreatment. Just because he married a black woman I’m supposed to be satisfied. Michelle Obama is turning cartwheels trying to be mom, wife, campaigner, supporter in chief, whatever. She doesn’t seem to get it either. She attacked Hillary like she didn’t think she owed Hillary any credit for being a trailblazer. Well, she does — and she’ll see why when and if she gets into the White House. They will slice and dice her as a woman, not just as a black person. Then Jeremiah Wright disses white womens’ experience, using an Obama who grew up with a white mother and in a white family! I got a call from an Obama supporter for money and I expressed concern about this woman thing and he decides to go off script and tell me that black men and white women were the only true slaves and that black women have always had it made. Such morons are among those attracted to a message that fails to confront the problems facing black women and all women. Barack is playing a dangerous game. And the black women who support it and don’t call upon him to recognize their pain too for fear that they will be seen as not supporting their men — are making the same mistakes that white women have made throughout the ages.

Just wanted to let you know I’m watching AC360 and heard your comments about having real discussions about race and I want to say, my brother, that you make me real proud to be an African American.

You have been speaking to this and many issues since you joined CNN(now I get to see you on the regular since I watch CNN daily).

Not only am I a Barack supporter, for over a year now, and appreciate him, but I also appreciate you holding your own and speaking the truth. It seems really difficult to get air time. though that’s understandable with so many excellent commentators, like David Gergen and others.

I usually do not send these type of emails, but I wanted to say keep up the excellent work and keep the race discussion honest.
