Every year the president has a Black History Month celebration at the White House. It was no different this year. But what was a change was the message offered by the president.
Below is the speech given by President George W. Bush. Look especially for his remarks about nooses and American history.
Very good speech, Mr. President.

I certainly don’t know everything. Is there another month devoted to another group of people?

If not, why do we have a black history month?

Hispanic Heritage month – September
Jewish American Heritage month is in May i think…
those are just two that come to mind, i’m sure there are others…

Black history month is just well-known because so many folks, like yourself, find it inherently offensive, but it’s not unique. I bet every significant minority group in America has their own history or heritage “month.”

Not unique? I don’t see the other two you mention on tv, etc. Maybe I don’t watch enough tv?!

Maybe we should have a bi-racial history month so that “folks” like you wouldn’t find being bi-racial offensive.
