Timeline of Geraldine Ferraro’s race-based rants against Obama

03/13/2008 12:19 pm 50 comments

I just got off CNN and listened to comments by Geraldine Ferraro that the media took her comments regarding Obama out of context; that the newspaper that first reported the comments took the controversial graf from her speech in Torrance, Calif.; and that the Obama campaign called her a racist.I assembled a timeline that rebuffs all of that. Click here to check it out.

It doesn’t matter how many times she said that. Because what she said was absolutely correct if you listen to her in the context.
She knows that she wouldn’t be mentioned today as “the first woman VP candidate” if she was not a woman. It’s the same thing.
What is so wrong to admit that African Americans are excited for the great possibility to elect very first African American President?? I don’t understand!!

If Obama were in Kucinich’s look, do you really think he is still competing in primary and all these young black people are excited about Obama? Obama is where he is today because of all the factors he posses: his character, intelligence, age, tall and handsome look, freshness and he being an African American is surely one of the very important factors. Without any of these factors, he wouldn’t be in his position today.

In that sense, what Ferraro said was absolutely correct and she is far from a racist. If what she said gave a scarlet stamp on her, all the media and political strategists including you should be stamped as “racist” as well. Can’t all media stop saying, “heavily African American populated area doesn’t give any chance to Hillary Clinton” or “David Paterson becomes the first African American NY Governor”?
Media including CNN and all the election campaigners analyze election results by demographics and RACE is an essential factor. You know that. Without acknowledging these things and attacking Ferraro and Bill Clinton is sickening hypocrisy.

By the way, G. Ferraro was even not a paid staffer. She was just one of fund-raisers. Is it OK a high ranking paid staffer says Hillary is a monster? Don’t you think something is wrong here? Both camps should really stop attacking each other.

  • Celeste

I guess some people like Ferraro and Hillary would love to forget that Barack is biracial. Regardless, Ms Ferraro’s comments were nothing more than a veiled attempt at accusations of reverse racism. Up until a few weeks ago, I had planned on voting for Hillary. After watching her campaign strategy, I visualized Karl Rove and Bush tactics all over again. Divisive! Ms. Ferraro’s comments put the icing on the cake, helped me to see the light, and not vote for Hillary Clinton. You see, I come from a biracial family, and what Ferraro said made me see that the Clintons don’t have much respect for blacks or biracial Americans who by the way vote. The Clintons in a desperate attempt seem to want to play the race card that Ms Ferraro is falsely accusing Obama of. Because, Obama didn’t make any racial remarks, Ms. Ferraro and the Clintons did.

If anyone is doing any attacking it is Ferraro and the Clintons trying to provoke and distract Obama through old school politics. My question to the Clinton campaign and media is should all black people apologize for being black or in Barack’s case BIRACIAL? Do I plan to vote now? Yes, but the Clintons can scratch another voter off their list of supporters. However, thank Ms. Ferraro for helping me make up my mind.

  • Bond

What Ferraro said cannot be taken any other way but racist (and sexist).

    Ferraro said:
“If Obama was a white man, he would not be in this position. And if he was a woman (of any color) he would not be in this position. He happens to be very lucky to be who he is. And the country is caught up in the concept.”

Using her racist logic and applying it to Clinton:
“If Clinton was a black woman, she would not be in this position. And if she was a man (of any color) she would not be in this position. She happens to be very lucky to be who she is. And the country is caught up in the concept.”

    Ferraro also said:
“Racism works in two different directions. I really think they’re attacking me because I’m white. How’s that.”

    This means that she saying:
“Since I racially attacked him because he’s black, they’re racially attacking me because I’m white. How’s that.”

She admits being racist in her own comment and now she’s the victim? She’s lost her mind.

I’m all for free speech, but when its blatantly racist (and sexist) you must point it out then “reject and denounce” it. Its a shame Clinton wants to win an election more than she wants to bring people together.

Oh and by the way, what also makes Ferraro look like an idiot is the fact that she apparently doesn’t know Obama is half white!

  • Caryl S. Foster

When I first heard and read Ms. Ferraro’s initial comments, I did not and still do not think of them as being spoken by a racist person but rather as being spoken by a person guilty of flawed strategic thinking. Many people, media pundits and politicians included, have attempted to rationalize, spin, marginalize, and excuse why Americans are “caught up in the concept” of Barack Obama. And at the same time, many of these same people have largely and intentionally failed to recognize and refuse to publicly admit that it is the message not the messenger that has captivated many Americans.

While it is true that Senator Obama is a great speaker, by no means is his ability to speak well the reason why Americans of all colors are falling all over themselves to support him. And while it is also true that Barack Obama is a black man, it is equally true that if a white man or a woman of any color were representing the same message of real change, Americans would be caught up in them as well.

The issue is not the color of the messenger rather the issue is the truth of the message being broadcast. The truth of the message that, for the first time in a long time, real change in Washington is not only a possibility but a necessity recognized by a great many Americans. The essential truth that, despite continuous attempts to sub-divide us into competing and hopefully divisive groups, many Americans share the same great hope that real change will become reality with the election of a President largely untainted by “experience” in Washington.

Americans are supporting a candidate who is delivering the message of hope that it is past time for our politicians in Washington to attend to the business of working for We the People. We are supporting a compelling message of hope and engaging with the sense of urgency that our politicians will be held publicly accountable when their flawed thinking becomes transparent; their flawed strategic thinking that mandating real change is not possible because building a broad consensus is impossible and that regardless, real change is contrary to the politics of establishment politicians who believe that the status quo of how things are done (or rather not done) in Washington is just fine thank you very much.

The message broadcasting the essential truth of the hope and the growing public mandate for real change is the concept shared by a great many “caught up in” Americans and who in turn and regardless of our race, sex, age or income, support Senator Obama as a direct result of this message and not simply because he is black.

It’s The Message Not The Messenger, Geraldine!

    Blacks 4 Barack (A Multi-Racial Org.)
    Announces:
The ‘WE WILL NOT BE CHEATED’
    Phone Campaign To DNC !

Out of desperation, the Clinton campaign is now stooping to extreme lows by having surrogate Geraldine Ferraro in the media making racist statements against Barack Obama. Also, it is a fact that even if Hillary wins Pennsylvania there is absolutely no way she can get enough delegate votes to defeat Obama. And her BIG ploy now is to have a ‘re-do’ in Michigan and Florida, despite the fact that this would be a changing of the rules in the middle of the game which should not be allowed. She then hopes that, after stealing the nomination, she will offer Obama the V.P. slot….figuring that if he excepts, Obama supporters will vote for her….while if he does not….she would at least look like she offered the slot. THIS IS UNEXCEPTABLE !

Hillary Clinton’s coniving tactics will end up extremely detrimental to the Democratic Party. Now is the time to let the DNC know that if Hillary wins through ANY methods deemed trickery (which is the only way she can win) WE….THE PEOPLE WILL NOT SUPPORT HER IN THE GENERAL ELECTION !

National radio talk show host Warren Ballentine is asking EVERYONE to call the DNC at 202-863-8000 to let them know ‘We Will Not Support A Cheater !’We need 50 thousand Americans of all ages, races and creeds to FLOOD THE PHONES !!! So Call Today !!!! 202-863-8000. Say It Loud….WE WILL NOT SUPPORT A CHEATER…..PERIOD!!! Tell everyone you know to make this call. The Time Is NOW….for the Re-Birth of America !!!!

NOTE: The Media refuses to inform America that OBAMA WON TEXAS !!!!!

Yes, as some commentators note, context of speeches do matter. However, there are several reasons people are highly skeptical of Ms Geraldine Ferraro and the campaign shenanigans of the Hillary Rodham Clinton campaign — the ‘kitchen sink’, the promise by former Bill Clinton and now his wife’s campaign to ‘dirty him up’ and to try and bring Mr Obama down in the gutter-politics they relish and thrive at playing. Another context for Ms Ferraro’s comments is the Clinton’s race-baiting campaign in South Carolina, the fear-baiting campaign (3am red phone ad) in Texas, the nonsense about Mr Obama’s ‘experience’ — which in the legislature far exceeds Ms Clinton’s (Mr Obama has 8 years in Illinois and now is in the Senate), etc etc. Yes Ms Clinton is smart. However her campaign is seedy and there is nothing ‘new’ or change-agent about it. But may be Americans want Bush-Clinton and Bush-Clinton into perpetuity. Next we can have Fmr Governor Jed Bush and then Chelsey Clinton. There are some folks who have become so intransigent they are unprepared to acknowledge any wrong on the part of individuals like Ms Ferraro. If you can’t admit when you are wrong in a campaign then you are not going to do so when the candidate is in office; there will be no accountability. Accountability is not something I associate with the Clinton’s and now, not with Ms Ferraro. What a sad day for all Americans.

  • Michelle

I was not shocked to hear her comments, what shocks me is that the Black community is still shuffling out of the fields making excuses for the massa whupping and deameaning them.

We are the only group of people who make excuses for the racist things that are said about us by mumbling things are better than they used to be. Things will be better when we are viewed on our merit, on our abilities and on our character instead of our color.

  • Khandie Johnson

Roland, This is the only way I could think of to get in contact with you. So please excuse me for bringing this to your blog. I dont know if you could anything to help, but I’ll ask anyway.

I have realized while watching the latest comments being made in the media,Fox,MSNBC,CNN about the church Obama has attended for 20 years, partically,Hannity stating, because of the association Obama has with his pastor ,Rev Wright, he is not fit to be President and should step down from his Sen Seat, This is very dangerous to all Blacks in politics. We know that many Black across the country now in Politics are there as a direct result of much of what we’ve learned through our church community. If this notion is allowed to festure without interception, it could turn back the clock for Black America every where for 50yrs. We can not sit by and do nothing to combat this danger.

Suppose the Government pull tapes from every major AA Church in America to see who is a member or attended that church. Many politicians in office would fall into this (remove them from Office plight)

In my opinion, Rev Wright was stating truths,we can all agree on,but will not say in front of white America. These are problems that need to be addressed. I beleieve White America know we see what is going on here and around the world, but hope we will not say anything about it, thus We be call anti-patriotic.

Now I know you are an active leader in the black community and may already be in discussion with others conscerning this matter. I trust that our elders will know what to do in this situation.

But in case nobody else yet, see what I see as a potiential disaster for Black America, I’ve said it.

I Love you , and will wait for your response in the Media.

Roland, you have been so biased towards hilary, it shows every night with you and the wors political team on cnn. It so disgusting to see you spend the whole night advising obama on what he should do to win, that’s okay but what is worse is you talk about hillary using so called kitchen sink tactics to win in Ohio but as a christian your idea of trust seems to be racist and distorted. How come you never thought that the NAFTA issue and the canadian embassy was enough to make obama lose Ohio. This weekend we just seen how decitful obama is with all his lies coming out one after the other to hunt him. Talk about his pastor, he lied, talk about rezko, he lied, talk about Nafta he lied even about his so called not supporting iraq invasion he flip floped as in 2004 obama said categorically that he wa son same page with Bush and he further stated that he was not sure how he would have voted as had he been the senate. How is that as a christian that you claim you are you cant catch obama in all his lies. When Bill referred to obama’s position on iraq and the media characterization as a fary tale you all cried four,.. Shame on you and all the obam bots,, your lies and nemesis is catching up on you now. At the debate when Hillary first mentioned rezko obama made it seem that he knew very little about the guy,, wofl blitzer of cnn is silent about it now and cant ask Obama to explain why he would down play his involvement with rezko; making it seem he was so innocent. More, kitchem sinks are on the way and i did want hillary to win the nomination but not any more because, i so want obama disgraced by the republician machine, remeber swif boat,, obama will be swift boated and all his tissue of lies will ge out in the open. Then to Oprah, Obama will yet been another ‘million piecese of lies! O bam claimed to have written a book with whose character he cant even recall.. huh!

I believe that Hillary Clinton should have fired Geraldine Ferraro from her campaign once the statements were aired. This was classic Clintonian moves. Hillary came down on the Obama camp about Stephanie Power, who resigned immediately. To think that Geraldine Ferraro, a trailblazer in her time, could say such insulting statements, is beyond me. It is crazy but I guess this is the reality of the election campaign. Check out Black Political Thought for thought provoking commentaries. http://www.blackpoliticalthought.com.

    Great timeline!

And your comments today 3/16/08 on CNN about the latest firestorm on Rev. Wright were absolutely on point!

    1) Ron Paul said the same things about 9/11 as Rev. Wright
    2) This stuff is peripheral and we should focus on the economy and the other ISSUES

Funny how Ron Paul can say something similar about 9/11 but it doesn’t have nearly the impact as a Reverend who never ran for the presidency.

Also interesting is how this story about Rev. Wright has been around since at least April last year, but now it suddenly resurfaces…now that Obama has a huge and virtually impossible delegate and popular vote lead.

When will someone in the black community stand up and defend both Obama and Rev.Wright? I can understand both positions and there is truth in both but no one among the blacks seem to be defending them.

OBAMA IS A SELLOUT! RUNNING AROUND THE COUNTRY REJECTING ANY AND ALL “BLACK LEADERS” WHO CHALLENGE WHITE AMERICA. OBAMA WILL NOT BE US PRESIDENT. THATS WHY I THINK REV. BARACK OBAMA YOU NEED TO BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF!

From Blacks4Barack…..DON’T BE SIDE-TRACKED ! Stay focused on important issues. It’s sad that Obama is forced to run against Hillary, the Republicans, the DNC (king of the rules change)…..and even the media. But through it all….he maintains strength, class and Presidential calm.

It will be 5 years in Iraq….almost 4000 dead heros, thanks to Hill, Bush and McCain….where’s Hillary’s tax return….why does she keep saying she won Florida and Michigan (is she unstable)….where’s the secret contributors list….what’s going to happen in her on-going voter fraud trial in L.A. with Pa. Gov. Rendell, is she a true Democrat or a closet GOP? She cares nothing about the Dem Party….even endorsed McCain…..there are SOOOOOOO many questions that the media needs to be asking…..DEMAND THE FACTS…..CONTACT THE MEDIA !!!!

It’s a shame that the divisive “white political media” is up to the same old game. This is wearing me out! I have watched FOX, CNN, MSNBC and other news stations give “their” opinions on the controversial sermons preached by Jeremiah Wright. Even if you don’t agree with what he said, there are a lot of African Americans as myself who read, study and research and know for a fact that many of the things he said are TRUE, but the fact it; white america can’t handle the truth! The history of the country is so hypocritical and now the media is portraying Barack as a racist based on things his pastor said and they want him to denounce his church. Well, isn’t that typical of whites in this country? I want Hillary to denounce her afficliations with the white secret societies that she and her husband are affiliated with such as the Bilderberg Group, the Trilateral Commission as well as their ideations on New World Order. Denounce that!!! Clinton and McCain are sitting back watching Barack be attacked for something that was out of his control. Yes, what the reverend said hit the surface, but the reality is many of the things he said was right. The media should poll the African American population in this country to see how many of us would agree or disagree. But more importantly than that, the media has turned this into a fiasco for Senator Obama, which is unfair, gives the appearance of underlying Racism, and have they forgotten that he is BIRACIAl? His mother was white. Hello? This is what kills me. The perception that is portrayed to the viewers is so one-sided and then you have a few that they interview, such as Rolland Martin, who scratch the surface, but they dare not interview the source; Rev. Wright and Louis Farrakhan, who could articulate their positions themselves. Why? Because that would take the focus off Barack and place it on the truth. They don’t want to hear from brothers who know their history and can tell the white media about itself and about this country. The government is responsible for the genocide of AIDS, it was behind 911, the war in Iraq was a farce/cover-up and we will soon go to war with Iran if President Bush has his way. The Reverend and the Minister have not been far off, actually there is much accuaracy in their teachings. Further, as far as Hillary not being able to relate as Barack can based on his being black; well, she can’t, she never will and probably wouldn’t want to. So, as Al Sharpton says “lets keep it real”. But the divisive white news media should be ashamed. Put some brothers and sisters on the air and then lets talk fair and square. Their one-sided opinions have gone way too far and I’m fed up!!!

  • nerakami

We have been presented with an opportunity to scratch below the surface of the racial divide between blacks and whites. The challenge is; are we going to react with emotions ONLY, or are we all gong to take a deep breath and for the first time make a sincere effort to come to some level of understanding between ourselves? Above all things, gain understanding….

Most whites feel that because slavery is over, black folks ought to “get over it”. Unfortunately, it is not that simple, as the scars go deeply in the soul of the black race. It is somewhat like a child who has endured abuse in his upbringing, and will invariably grow up to continue the cycle of abuse with his own children which will persist until he seeks therapy to help him understand the conditioned nature of his behavior.

Black people are angry because the pain and horrors, the humiliation, the attempts to kill their human spirit are still fresh in their psyche. It wasn’t that long ago that people were still being lynched, water-hosed, thrown in jail. As painful as it is for all of us, we must be honest and straightforward about “what is”.

White people are mis-trusting of the anger of blacks. At the core for some may be elements of guilt and shame. Why has there never been a concerted or sincere effort on the part of this country to say to black America…. “America has wronged you, especially as a nation under God, but we are willing to work with you to understand the psychological and emotional baggage left on your hearts, your minds and your soul.”

I understand it is very difficult for a white person to ever fully understand … unless you are in another man’s skin and have endured his experiences, one can never truly know. But we are human beings and we have the capacity and creative ability to open our minds and imagine what it was like…. most importantly, what it could be as a healed nation. For all the talk of patriotism, and love of country…. this is our challenge America…. do we have the courage to approach this with a “new mind”, to perceive each other through the other’s eyes? If not, let me be very clear… this is a “black” mark in the history of this country and the law of Karma states (or as the bible says) whatever seeds we plant, so shall we reap”. Hatred begets hatred and love begets love. We are being presented with an opportunity to choose…

  • http://deleted nerakami

Roland…. It is time someone (meaning YOU) along with a brilliant panel of psychiatrists, sociologists, behavioral therapists embark on a series of in-depth discussions and explanations to highlight the inevitable aftermath and real ramifications of the black oppression. It is critical to shed light for white America and blacks too, why we think, act and feel the way we do. How the deep psychological damage has left us with pain, bitterness, anger and a subconsciousness of inferiority.

We will NEVER move on harmoniously, unless we all understand why the black race is in such turmoil and why white America thinks we can simply “get over it”. Please Roland, this is very critical to our healing….

  • Steve

Ferraro is less of a racist, than she is a poor communicator. I think most people “get” what she was “trying” to say. However, her statement creates, to me, a parallel betwen Barack and a “quota” system, which white people have rejected in America. Her statements imply that he’s not competent, and is in this position (of priviledge) because of race. That’s a bad place for black people, because that’s already the misguided notions prevalent in society today. That those that succeed, do so from preferential advantage not pure competence.

  • S Wil

    Hiram,

First off, lets not kid ourselves, this is America and in order for Senator Obama to be president he needs white support, therefore just like all black people, all minorities in America, he has to tow the line and play the game. I however do find it interesting that you feel like he sold his pastor out, have you been watching the coverage at all. Over a year ago when this story first surfaced, the pastor himself told the NY Times that he knew that Senator Obama would have to separate himself from him because of the possible political ramifications, so this wasn’t a surprise. Secondly he did no throw his pastor under a bus, when specifically asked to disavow the man, he said he would not, he said he was like an uncle one disagrees with, but that you wouldn’t kick them out of the family. Additionally he said he would continue to go to his church. Disavowing words and disavowing the man never happened. Standing by his pastor actually shows the man to be of great character because the pastors words, though they ring true in black america, scare white which could cost the Senator politically, but he specifically refused to disavow the man, now how exactly is that being a sell-out.

  • W Johnson

Looks like Obama is going to address the issue of race directly.

Wonder if that means he’ll finally come out and say he is bi-racial.

He is after all, isn’t he?!

He seems so determined to make sure everyone knows he is Christian and not Muslim, I would think he would want to clear up this misidentification also.

Maybe, finally, people like nic will realize they don’t have to hate their white half.

Obama actually credits his white mother with much of the man he has become. Seems appropriate to give her race the respect it seems to deserve.

  • Dekonti

    “A Voice In The Wilderness”

    Dear Roland:
I must first begin by saying THANK YOU so much for being the only voice of reason when it comes to views of African Americans on any major news organ in the country today. The comments and political commentary that you’ve shared have been right on point especially the way you took Tony Perkins to task as he started to flip-flop the other night on television.

Like you have rightfully said, the comments made be Rev. Wright can be viewed in different ways depending on which LENS you’re using. If you’re a White-American, this will be the most offensive thing you have ever heard in your life even though blacks were once slaves in this country, segregation was sanctioned by the Government, the United States had as its official policy regime change that negatively affected the citizens of those countries. More importantly, Ron Paul said over and over similar sintiments about the US Foreign Policy and 9/11. However, we did not see a similar outcry. If you listen to Rev. Wright’s sermons as an African-American scared by slavery, subtle discrimination, etc., this will sound like music to your ears.

    IT IS ALL ABOUT CONTEXT.

People fail to discuss the role of the black church in the Black community. The black church was the voice of blacks when their government would not speak for them. It is in this tradition that people like Rev. Wright come from. This man is a former US Marine. Listen to all the political pundits out there…many of them have never served this country one day!!!!!!

People have said…Why would Obama become a part of such a church. Well, people must understand that this man had to deal with his own struggles with Race and who he really is. Please read his first book, “Dreams From My Father.”

America has long swept under the rug its racist past and the impact it had on its victims. Katrina revealed a part of it and this election is removing the rug completely. If you did a tour of black churches around this country on any given sunday, you will most hear two themes – Black Economic Empowerment and the Impact on Blacks of America’s Past.

Roland, keep up the good work as many other blacks continue to “lose their spine” in order to keep their jobs.

Lastly. I’m sure barack will do justice to this topic tomorrow even if it costs him this election.

I am not very impressed with Roland Martin. He spins the truth. First, if I was in a church and my pastor acted with so much hate, I would not attend. That goes for any church, black or white. It is so surprising that these people are so racist. I would also like to ask Mr. Roland, this is not fhe first relationship Obama has had with anti-government tendancies. Mr. Ayers, a known terrorist, from 1970′s, who attempted to bomb the Pentagon. In fact Mr. Ayers wrote a book showing no remorse. He belonged to the Weatherman Underground. This group killed people. Mr. Obama went on speaking engagements with Mr. Ayers, received money for his Presidential campaign, and has been friends with him 12 years. Also Mr. Obama belonged to another organization, that gave money to the PLO, known terrorist organization, and the list goes on. I do not care if Mr. Obama is black or white, he has very poor judgement and people hang around people with like views. I do not respect Mr. Obama and neither do I respect Mr. Martin. I do not care about the spin, when it is wrong it is wrong!

Well then, our country’s founding fathers did not get the “All men are created equal” exactly right given that several of them were slaveholders and the fact that as contained in Article 1 Section 2 of the original US Constitution, black people were counted as being 3/5ths of a person, but for sure they got the basic principle underlying our religious freedom exactly right as stated in Article 6 “no religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States”.

Senator Barack Obama has read, taught, and pledged to uphold the US Constitution and all parts of it as it currently exist for all of America and all the people in it and nothing that he has ever said or done suggest that he will not. This is the high standard I will hold our next President to.

Of course, it was not until the times of President Lincoln that Article 1 Section 2 was properly amended and so perhaps now is the time to enable Senator Barack Obama the opportunity to call forth, as President Lincoln once did, “the better angels of our nature” that hopefully exists in all of us whether we sit on the left or right, whether we are black or white, regardless of what our preachers preach, and whether we go to church or not.

    The Highest Standard!

To Hiram- If you believe, as you’ve written here, that Senator Obama is a “gold digger”- then how do you explain the realities and fact that, when he graduated from Columbia University, an Ivy league school, he worked on behalf of the poor? Then, when he went on to matriculate top in his class from Harvard Law, he bypassed extraordinary opportunities to get rich by working on Wall Street or at a top NYC law firm? Further, how do you explain his career decisions to work in community development and politics- neither of which are known for making huge sums of money, relative to his other opportunities?
Please justify your remarks with facts, not inuendo and slander.

  • W Johnson

Hiram, maybe you should have spent a little more time working on your spelling and grammar in school.

If Obama addresses slavery, I am hoping he addresses it in his father’s native country of Kenya http://gvnet.com/humantrafficking/Kenya.htm and NOT the USA since he has no reference to slavery in the USA any more than I do to the Irish potato famines.

W Johnson, no one in America speaks the Kings English. Your nothing more then a Porn watching, Fat KKK Member who blogs on Black Websites. White America has destroyed the World, the White Man is hated in every country as a Murderer, Rapist, and Liar. Does Race Matters? of course it does, Mississippi still hangs the Confederate Flag, and Whites my friend still have the Blood of Evil Rapist in their veins. They Raped, Lynched, Bombarded, Burnt, and Murdered Black Folks, for what? Why commit such violations of Human Rights to a people who never attacked your land or your people? The answer is because the White Man is naturally Evil, he calls Black Women animals and then have sex with what he called a animal, lol. Slavery and Drugs built America and Funded White Schools such as (Yale, Harvard, Princeton, Columbia, etc). Any Real Black Man knows not to listen to White Professors, especially when they teach that Blacks are 3/5 Human or Monkeys ;-]

Obama is in trouble (period) with American voters. His speech today demonstrated that he is less than truthful and completely the type of politician he deplores. When the controversy first erupted he was on the airwaves denying that he ever heard Wright’s Anti-american and racists comments. Now, we know in private conversations with Wright he was well aware of Wright’s politics and never denounced them before the video’s were released. And now today he finally acknowledged he had heard some of the “controversial” remarks while sitting in the pews of Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago; Yet, Obama remains the golden child in the media’s eyes. Stick a fork in him, he’s done!

Hello there frat! I first of all I want to say how much of a fan I am! You make me proud to be an Alpha man! I watch you all the time as you contribute to the political discussion’s on CNN.

I have to say that your comments to Heidi about why Obama did not leave the church were GOLDEN! You owned her and that conversation bruh. You had me standing up like you were preaching a good sermon when you spoke about how whites were not asked to leave the churches of their pastors when they made divisive comments. I have always appreciated (and agreed) with your comments; but today was your moment man and you shined like new money! Thank you for being our voice!

Let me say this, I consider myself African-American, even though I am only first generation African- american, my children recieve the same treatment as all other african-american kids at her school and there is no differentiation between her and 6th generation african americans.
That said….I want to point out that regardless of what people say about this whole saga. An african american was the first person to stand up against Hitler (Jesse Owens) and at the same time he stood up against the prevailing American lifestyle…..When white america could not stand up against Hitler, an african-america did and he had to do it and condemn the USA too, what greater patriotism is there than to seek to make your country better…..that is why it is soo damned for white america to take on this holier than thou attitude at this time….Go Barack.

    Guilt by association:

We the People, for days have been bombarded with a 20 to 30 second sound bites over the airways with the sole purpose of making a villain of The Reverend Wright. It is also geared to destroy the campaign of Barack Obama. I read “Guilt by Association” posted by the editor and then I read all the comments posted by readers. The one thing that stood out was no one did any research or even tried to uncover the truth or the context of what was said or why. A piece of bait (20-30 second sound bite) and most everybody bought it hook line and sinker. When the sound bite started, I realized it did not fit with the man that was running for President. I have news for all of you I was right.
I am going to confuse you with facts, hope your mind is not made up. It is called the Internet, and with Google, Yahoo, Ask.com and Live Search the truth can be discovered.
I have listened to hours of Reverend Wrights Sermons and addresses given to different groups. Unfortunately, I could only go back a few years. One in particular is an Interfaith Service at Amherst College in Amherst MA On February 9, 2007. Most importantly, I was able to see and listen to the sermon from which the sound bite from which “God Dam America” was taken. When put in context I believe it was, if not justified at least understandable. It is a fact that the CIA during the Reagan Administration Brought drug into the United States of America sold them to Dealers in the ghettos of Detroit, Chicago, Los Angels, and New Your. The Reverend set up Rehab Programs to combat what was done our government. The statement went something like this:
    You sell the drugs
    You arrest the users
You pass the three-strike law and want us to say God Bless America NO, NO, NO, “God Dam America”.
I do believe the real question here is there any guilt to be associated with, and if there is who is guilty.

Reverend Wright Asked the question, “If you can get aid to people on Vacation half away around the world that was hit by a Tsunami why did it take 4 days to get Aid to the people in New Orleans”. He is a Radical preacher don’t pay attention to him.

Blind submission and support to a government gave rise to Nazi Germany. People left the churches when the ministers spoke up against Nazi Germany then the ministers where dragged off to concentration camps.
I find the statements expressed on FOX, CNN & MSNBC more revolting than anything I ever heard from Reverend Wright, now the truth is known.

Reverend Write, The Shepard, defended one of his flock (Barack Obama) from the attack of the wolf (the Clintons).

The Media then took 20-30 seconds of sound bite from 30+years of Ministry serving Jesus and play it repeatedly in the hopes the Lamb will be slathered.

I am a WHITE MAN a Viet Nam Veteran (Marine Corps), no one ever thanked me for my service until 3pm on September 11, 2001 Ironic is it not.
I lived through the Social Revolution of Martin Luther King Jr. and I believe Reverend Write spoke from is life experience and hit the nail on the head with most swings of his hammer.

I am certain Most have never walked through the south and seen the signs whites only blacks (they didn’t use the word black, they used the word Hillary has never been called) in back or heard lets go coon hunting from a KKK member. I find the statements expressed on FOX, CNN & MSNBC more revolting than anything I ever heard from Reverend Write. They do not deserve the title of news Network.

I am of Canadian decent; my Father was a Canadian wet back, early 1930’s. He was sent back and returned legally. My Canadian relations feel Reverend Write expressed the sentiment of the rest of the world.

I was not ashamed of my country but I was not overly proud until I heard Mrs. Obama say “for the first time I am really proud of my country” (an other statement that was perverted by CNN, MSNBC, and Fox News) and I thought to myself Me too.
His Barack Obama guilty by Association the Answer is No.
The American People are guilty by disassociation!

I hope the American people will realize that there is a campaign to discredit the first American of African descent running for President. I just can’t think of any other Reason why CNN, MSNBC, and FOX News would completely distort the truth about Reverend Wright and attack Barack Obama.

  • Dont Sleep

This country’s legacy supports the evil mindset of people like the commentators on Fox News. History shows that these types are not interested in a more perfect union! It is no surprise that they have risen and have an all out assault going against Senator Obama.

The good news is “we the people” can still ultimately determine who becomes president in the November elections. I for one will be voting for Senator Obama in November even if I have to write his name in on my ballot!!!!! If the millions of people who support him do the same thing we can send Senator Clinton and McCain on a long and well deserved vacation because lying and distorting facts for your own personal gain take alot out of you!!!

w johnson, you are so far gone from reality. America was built on Slavery and Drugs, any real Black Man will never sit and listen to any White Professor who think we are animals and monkeys! America is guilty of Murder, Lynching, and Rape of the Black Race ;-[

Racism is alive and thriving with the spring flowers,,,I thought the we were interested in the issues, NOT the fact that Barack has to answer to The WHITE media why he does’nt disown another BLACK man…Remember WHITE media his mother is white. I m voting for Barack not Rev Wright. Give us break, All Barack has to do is prove to me he can be a good leader. The WHITE media has made this about race. IT MAKES ME SICK….

  • Brandy Wilson

Hirim Abiff: You obviously have no love for Obama…so why get so worked up about anything he has to say?
W Johnson: Sherlock-Why down the man for NOT having the blood of slaves in his veins? Those who did and even those who had the scars of the whip on their backs …were promised 40 acres and a mule… fat lot of good it did them!

  • Brandy Wilson

Roland: As for Geraldine Ferrero… This hard aging … well past her 15 minutes …lookin’ for an infusion of celebrity …USTABE…Is milking this for all it worth…Girlfriend hasn’t got this much press in YEARS… she is going to keep stoking the fires they are spelling her name right…as she refuses to FADE TO BLACK!…This gives her the chance to get as close to a good-looking black man as one would DARE get close to her!..NEWS FLASH GIRLFRIEND…OBAMA DOESN’T NEED YOUR FUND RAISING HELP… He has done JUST FINE without ya!

  • Shelia Johnson

Since the begining of time AND in EVERY culture there are three things by which people are judged…

    Race
    Class/Money
    Religion

What makes any of us think that its going to change.

By the way Mr. Johnson…why would Obama speak about slavery in Kenya? Obama is NOT Kenyan, he’s American! And just because one does NOT have a direct reference too or experience with slavery has nothing to do with the consequences we see TODAY that are directly related to slavery

  • Demi – Atlanta

IGNANTS – KEEP YOUR MINDS OPEN TO THE REAL ISSUES! Don’t be distracted by the “Powers-that-be” of America. Barack Obama is the best to happen to this country since MLK and JFK. He’s under attack, and we good Americans should continue to support him and speak out about the blatant unfairness in this campaign. Obama could be any of us pursuing our dream. He’s worked hard to get where he is, and believe me, his skin color had nothing to do with it as some so claimed. Look at what the Bush presidency has done to America. He successful keeps Ameircans going at each other’s throats over nothing important, while he continues to milk this nation out of trillions and Iraq out of its oil. Divided we stand, recession we fall. We are all in a race for destruction!

  • Demi – Atlanta

W Johnson, you are a total idiot! Take your anger out on that person you see in the mirror. Oh, my bad, are you envious of Obama? Does it bother you to see a black man reaching new heights? Boy, you must really hate basketball.

  • W Johnson

Demi – what is a “total idiot”?

Obama’s bi-racial, isn’t he? His black father left? Raised by his white mother and white grandparents, wasn’t he? Did you see the piece on msnbc about how he credited much of his good to his white mother. I sent the link to Rollie.

Actually I LOVE basketball. Just hate the way it is played in the NBA. Have you noticed the NBA players have not won an Olympic Gold Medal or International Championship in awhile? I know, I know….it’s not that those white guys are better than the US, it’s just……whitey’s fault!

    Basketball is an awesome game!

    Thanks for your concern, Demi!

  • Demi

    W Johnson,

I believe the total idiot part is clear. Barack’s white mother said his African father left when Barack was two. One sided story. Correction: Barack acknowledged his white grandparents and his mother for raising him, as parents and guardians should, and Jeremiah Wright for inspiring the man he is today – an incredible individual with great character. He appears to be grounded in the black community, where he apparently is more welcomed. As for your comments about NBA players not winning Olympic Gold Medals or International Champsionships, million-dollar contracts speaks volume. And if white guys were better, they’d be dominating sports Tiger Woods!

    Blacks4Barack presents:
Hillary’s Religion (cult ?) ‘THE FAMILY’
    Very Scary !
Prays To Jesus For The Elite To Rule The World

The media has repeatedly aired the short clips of Rev. Jeremiah Wright’s rhetoric in attempt to discredit and smear Barack Obama. But what’s even more interesting is the fact that the media never discusses Hillary Clinton’s religion, which is extremely telling and even frightening. A closer look into her ‘religion’ gives one a clearer picture of why she is the way she is.In a recent article by Steven Brandt many truths about Hillary’s religion, called ‘ The Family’ will make you shutter. The question is….where’s the media on this one ?

Brandt writes, “You don’t choose your family, but you choose what church you want to attend.” said Hillary Clinton, to reporters and editors of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review on Tuesday the 25th. This is an interesting choice of words, since — while we mostly hear about her Methodist upbringing — Hillary Clinton has chosen to associate herself with The Family (also known as the Fellowship), a very conservative, fundamentalist organization started by Abraham Vereide…
“…an immigrant preacher who in 1935 organized a small group of businessmen sympathetic to European fascism, fusing the Far Right with his own polite but authoritarian faith. From that core, Vereide built an international network of fundamentalists who spoke the language of establishment power, a “family” that thrives to this day. In public, they host prayer breakfasts; in private they preach a gospel of “biblical capitalism,” military might, and American empire. Citing Hitler, Lenin, and Mao, Doug Coe, the Family’s current leader, declares, “We work with power where we can, build new power where we can’t.”
This quote is taken from the book on The Family by the same name which will be published in May… a book which claims to
“…dramatically challenge conventional wisdom about American fundamentalism, revealing its crucial role in the unraveling of the New Deal, the waging of the Cold War, and the no-holds-barred economics of globalization. The question Sharlet believes we must ask is not “What do fundamentalists want?” but “What have they already done?”
A long article was written about Hillary Clinton’s participation in this organization last September in Mother Jones, and The Family, itself, was the subject of an extensive article in Harper’s in March of 2003. And on March 21st, The Nation published an article on Hillary and The Family by Barbara Ehrenreich that was published on The Huffington Post and CBS News’ web site.
The Family avoids the word Christian but worships Jesus, though not the Jesus who promised the earth to the “meek.” They believe that, in mass societies, it’s only the elites who matter, the political leaders who can build God’s “dominion” on earth. Insofar as The Family has a consistent philosophy, it’s all about power – cultivating it, building it and networking it together into ever-stronger units, or “cells.”
    …wrote Ms.Ehrenreich.
Is it possible that Hillary’s participation in this fundamentalist group — which apparently preaches the “gospel of military might” — would help explain her vote in favor of authorizing President Bush to attack Iraq? Is it possible her pro-NAFTA stance during her husband’s administration comes from its embrace of “the no-holds-barred economics of globalization”? Is it possible that the sense some get that Hillary feels entitled to be president comes in part from this group’s belief that “it’s only the elites who matter”?
I encourage any reporter covering Hillary’s campaign to ask her about all this.

At a time when so many people are wondering what sort of effect the Rev. Wright’s sermons may have had on Barack Obama, I think it’s only fair to ask what sort of effect The Family’s fundamentalist mission has had – and continues to have – on Hillary Clinton. We know that George Bush engages in truly fundamentalist thinking. There is no person or new information capable of challenging his belief that what he already knows is right. Is Hillary Clinton like this in some way? I am not sure.

But the opinion I have formed from this is that – while Hillary Clinton may be considered a Liberal by many – on the inside she is a deeply Conservative person… possibly as close to being a Republican today as she was when she was a young woman supporting Senator Goldwater. This helps explain, to me, why she and John McCain are such good friends. They are both drawn to the use of military power and free market capitalism… and to taking money from lobbyists. The other opinion I have formed is that those who say there are no policy differences between Hillary and Barack haven’t taken into account how their religious differences might impact the policies they would actually seek to implement as president.
    (end of article)

So now a few things make more sense about Hillary. In review, she’s in a kinda power-hungry cult which is actually run by her fellow Republicans which she is secretly one of ! It also makes sense why she could care less about detroying the Democratic Party. Also, beware of her claim to work toward ending the Iraq war. That is another great lie that she is telling. If you listen to her claims she commonly repeats ‘ I will start getting troops out within my first 60 days ‘…..How many ? 3….1000…10,000 ? Don’t be fooled. Hillary has no desire to end the war. She’ll bring 5 troops home then say that she kept her word.

The media should be called out for not exposing this cult. Problem is, they would also be revealing the truths about their fellow Republican’s plan and prayers to ‘rule the world’ by any means. So it’s up to us, regular Americans like you and I, to help spread the truth in spite of the media…..For The Re-Birth of America !
