Texas ready to turn blue? Uh, no

DNC Chairman Howard Dean rattled off a list of successes this year in the Democratic primary. But when he got to Texas, he lost his mind.

Dean said more Dems voted in the Texas primary this year than the general election in 2004.

“Texas is ready to turn blue,” he said.

Fat chance, Howard.

NO Democrat holds a statewide seat in Texas, and that won’t change this year.

I’m from Texas and I just don’t understand why poor whites in Texas(as well as anywhere else) vote against their economic interests. The republican party or what I like to call the current conservative party gets the Billy Bobs and Bubbas here in Texas because the republican party uses the politics of fear, panic, and prejudice to brain wash them. In fact, this is the reason that we got George “Worst president ever” Bush in office now. I know that Texas will not be blue any time soon, but red Texas is giving me the Blues.

I live in Texas and fo rthe life of me I just can’t understand why the Hispanics are so hooked up on Clinton. All I can say and correct me if I’m worng but, Hispanics in Texas do not care for Black people…..and that’s the plain and simple truth. I hope that wise up soon & realize that we are on the same page & need to work together.

I am a 64 year old white female, why doesn’t anyone look in to the fact that white people are so afraid that if Barack Obama becomes prez they think that black people will rule the country like the white rich have done for years. Also when checking on respecting the American flag I found that in 1-08 McCain put his autograph on a picture of a flag,Bush signed on a small flag and Geo. and Laura stood on a carpet of a flag on 9-11-06 all three against the rules on how to treat the flag. And we worry if Barack Obama wears a flag pin. Love you Roland , also David Gergen and Jack Cafferty.

It is sad but true, if people prefer to vote for John McCain before they vote for Obama; they will suffer along with everybody else. Haven’t that been proved with the Bush Administration?

Some people would not dream of voting for Obama or endorsing him simply, because of the color of his skin. Obama have had more support from the White Community than McCain, and it keeps rising. Many people have raised money, and given money toward Obama’s campaign. John McCain is now earning voters, by trying to destroy Obama.

Not everyone is the same, and we are finally realizing we are all human beings. I am sure many are proud of Obama, including Foreign Countries. Keep up the good work. You understand the importance of Obama being the better choice. What a Change!

McCain needs to stop being so negative when talking about Obama, again, this is going to backfire. The United States is also being judged by how they treat their own people. If their people cannot get respect, they feel this Country can not be trusted. This includes the immigrants that also live in the U.S.A. So many people have stepped up to the plate and done their part in the Presidential Election.

Just remember Black is only a color and I am tired of hearing Obama don’t have the experience. No one have the experience until they get the job. President Bush had experience, Look what happened? We are now in a recession, do we need this again? Obama will have to work 3 times harder. We need someone that can represent this country. Yet they rather vote for a loser than a Black Man.
So I feel no matter how much experience you have, you can still be the worst person for the White House.

We have had Actors, and many others without any kind of knowledge of being a President, but they won the Presidential Election!

In my heart I feel Obama is going to win. He does not need the Clintons. If this was the case how did he beat her in the Primaries? It’s hard to believe, these people are even trying to pick Obama Vice President. This is up to Obama, everybody else had a choice.

I am tired of watching my quality of life fade into the sunset. I can’t afford housing expenses, gas, entertainment, dinning outside our home, dinning inside of our home, and get this……..a vacation! A what? A vacation……Oh, the good o’ days!

Budget Cuts Claim Hundreds Of Thousands Of County, City Jobs

Source: USA Today Local governments, once a steady source of employment in tough economic times, are shedding jobs in unprecedented numbers, and heavy payroll losses are expected to persist into next year. The job cuts by city and county governments are helping offset modest private-sector employment gains, restraining broader job growth. “They’ll continue to be a drag on the overall (employment) numbers and the economy,” says Wells Fargo economist Mark Vitner.
