After listening to Gov Palin’s crap laden speech, I didn’t think that I could hear anything any worse, but I did. That racist pig Glenn Beck had three clowns on his show dissing Obama. They even had the nerve to throw Rev Wright back into the picture. One of his guest said black theology was nothing but black racism. Now Beck states that he is not a Rep or Dem, but a conservative. It sounds to me that the man is a closet klansman. He needs to be in the same catagory with Limbaugh and Colter.

I am from Texas and I want to know who is being polled. Everyone that I talk to is voting for Obama and has never been polled. I really believe that in November the Republicans are going to be surprised. I think Obama supports are going to come out and Vote in numbers that is going to make history again

  • Sharon

What I would like to know. Sarah Palin can call the audience she was speaking to in Alaska as you (guys) but when Obama calls a lady sweetie… the (R) went bunkers about sexism…???

  • Camy

It’s scary that McCain selected this woman as his running mate, did not vet her, and placed her on a pedistal.

It is scarier that she actually believes that she is more qualified, more versed in foreign affairs, the economy, politics than Barak Obama.

It is down right shocking and scary how the republicans find ways to defend this woman and say how smart and fresh she is. Smart “hell no” a blind man can see she is no where near smart; fresh, I’ll agree fresh out the funny house.

  • Giorgio

Hey Roland, you are comparing potatoes with tomatoes. you are trying to say that palling around with a former member of the KKK and palling around with a terrorist that attacked this country is kind of the same.
You are so deep in the tank for Obama that is starting to affect your ability of think.
Why don’t you forget for a moment that Obama is black?
Let’s judged people by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.
    Do you remember that line?

  • Ann Noble

    Mr. Martin,
Born-again Christians are accountable before God. May the fear of the Lord come to your heart and change your mind on wanting a pro-choice candidate instead of a pro-life candidate. I pray that God will open your spiritual eyes to the lukewarmness and deception of Christians who think it’s ok to have a pro-choice candidate to be elected as our president. Please, don’t be deceived into thinking this is ok! Do not you care what God thinks? Do not you care how God feels? You should be leading people to raise their voice for those who cannot. (the unborn)

I’ve come to conclusion that McCain and Palin are two of the biggest racist ever and there campaign rallies are starting to sound like klan rallies. And the media needs to stop blaming both campaigns for going negative and kick the truth…it’s the McCain camp.

    Dear Sir:
I just saw the program on CNN regarding how people make their choices when voting and you were on the money and others were kinda not willing to accept that you were correct. There is another way that we, who have been on both sides for various reason. I a white woman and lived in a multi ethical environment and often my neighbors said i was more black than them! Living in this manner, gave me, and my children more tolerance and understanding of the person as a human.
The younger generation is finally understanding this fact and this will help all of our children and grandchildren to accept the culture which they will face in the future and this is why Obama will be good for current/future of America. We will need to be able to relate to all societies. Hopefully I will also be able to see my grandchildren to understand all humans, no matter what. Keep up with the truth.

I just saw a segment on Campbell Brown’s show where you, Roland, indicated that terms such as soccor moms and joe six pack were code words, used to include whites, to the exclusion of blacks. The black female on the show insisted that the term included her mother, presumably because she is black and played soccor. I think this is an example of blacks trying to fit in when they sure as hell don’t. Any black who insists they belong in the likes of palin’s separatist scheme are deluding themselves. It’s always sad to see people who lack awareness and just don’t get it.

    Roland Martin,

I would just like to comment on this Ayers association with Obama. It is more than amazing that the whole world knows about this bombing and any other criminal activity. Ayers never served anytime. I’m sure some of the inmates doing life for robbing a convenience store, are wondering, where did they go wrong (Justice System!!)??? Ayers, was able to reform and pursue a career as a professor at a major University. I would hate to assume his Terrorist 101 classes are not monitored. Maybe, his only restrictions are no extra credit, extensive training or field trips. Shall I go on? So I guess the entire staff and students are “ Paling around”!!! How can anyone compare the campaigns between candidates? However, I do appreciate McCain changing the tone of his “Town Hall” meetings. The sincerity was missing, due to the delayed reaction. I promised my self to use only one sentence about the GOP, Jane 6 pack would get a small paperback (Best Seller).

Love the way you knock sense into Tara’s head!! Between you and I think her name is Debbie Shultz, you both say things that I yell out while watching. True Debaters!! Please continue giving honest and fair opinions.

I don’t remember if I’ve sent in this comment before, but it’s just bugging the living hell out of me. The video of Gov. Palin giving a support speech the group known as; ALASKAN INDEPENDENCE PARTY. CNN showed this video. I watched it. I called my sister, Catherine to ask her had she seen it, and she told me she’d just caught the end of it. CNN has not run this video again nor have I even read or heard about it but sparingly. But here’s my problem, WHY IS CNN STILL TALKING ABOUT OBAMA AND AYERS? THIS VIDEO SHOWS PROOF OF HER SUPPORT OF THIS GROUP. WHY AREN’T THEY SHOWING IT? DON’T THEY WANT THE PUBLIC TO SEE THIS OR ARE THEY IN SUPPORT OF THIS GROUP AS WELL? I AM CONFUSED AND PISSED OFF BECAUSE HAD MY SISTER NOT SEEN A BIT OF IT I WOULD HAVE THOUGHT I WAS LOSING MY DAMN MIND! UNTIL I THOUGHT ABOUT YOUTUBE, IF YOUTUBE DOESN’T HAVE IT, I MUST HAVE BEEN DREAMING! I WAS NOT DREAMING. I EVEN PUT IT ON MYSPACE AND FACEBOOK. http://www.myspace.com/phyllismleblanc SOMEBODY NEEDS TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS.

  • ohio voter

I DONT UNDERSTAND WHY CNN IS THE ONLY THAT MENTIONS SARAHS INVOLEMENT IN THE AIP, WHY ISNT SHE BEING HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THAT, WHY HASNT ANYONE ASKED MCCAIN OR SARAH ABOUT THIS, ITS LIKE THEY ARE ONLY TRYING TO SMEAR OBAMA WITH THINGS THAT ARE WAY IN THE PAST AND THE AIP WAS ABOUT 6 MONTHS AGO AND TODD WAS A LONG TIME MEMBER OF!

    Hi Roland

As a black person, i was so impressed with the way you articulated issues. However i am starting to be embarrased by the way you now put foward your views. If only you can be cool and not be over pompus you will do good. Just remember people always blame black people as noisy and lacking conscience for others. So please dont betray us.

    Dear Roland,
I enjoy WATCHING and LISTENING your comments on CNN. I have question. McCain keeps saying he has been tested. How? All i hear him saying is that he was on an Aircraft Carrier in his fighter plane during the Cuban Missile Crisis. How is that being tested? He was in his airplane awaiting orders not giving them. Im not taking anything from Mr. McCain’s honorable service to our country and I applaud him for it. Thanks for taking the time to read and hopefully answer this for me.

    sincerely,
    Robert R. Owens, Jr.

America is better of with Obama who appears to have a better international approval rate. We need Obama to win the respect of the international community. McCann is running out of time and Palin is ill-prepared for the presidency. We cannot afford this risk. She has no personal international experience let alone political experience.

By far Obama has run a better campaign this fall and nobody can doubt that he’s got the eyes to select the best people for the job.

And this Joe the plumber issue – let’s be honest here, what does progressive tax policy does? There is nothing like a flat tax rate for all respective of how much you earn. It’s therefore surprising for anybody to be swayed by this Joe the plumber issue. If earn more you pay more – that’s how it’s done anywhere people pay income tax.

Joe was on the news the other day and suggested people should be allowed to keep what they earn without paying tax which will in the end benefit the less advantage – well that’s his view and should not be allowed to spread. That’s the worst form of capitalism I’ve ever head.

Who will want Sarah Palin to be a standby President anyway?

Since they picked Palin they have dropped the incredible experience argument. The other day Henry Kissinger (former Secy of state) was interviewed by Neil Cavuto about the experience issue and he said it’s not important because there are a whole lot of people with foreign policy experience who will be available to help her if John McCann becomes incapacitated and also cited example of former president Truman who entered the White House with apparently no foreign policy experience but turned out to be one of the best presidents in terms of foreign policy. So Cavuto asked him if this is not important for the top of the ticket as well then Henry Kissinger said “foreign policy experience is important for the top of the ticket” – gracious! I thought he felt like he’s exonerating Obama so had to change his argument. See where I’m leading to? You cannot trust anybody – even the elderly who should have learnt a lot and must be above politics. He constructed a good argument to discount Palin’s lack of experience and then had to break it all down because it was turning to benefit Obama.

Now you see why the New York times ran that story on Cindy McCann? If John McCann was not faithful to one person in marriage how can he ask the American people to trust him? After all he’s not as holy as the conservatives would want American president to be so why should they support him?

There is nothing in Sarah Palin to be excited about except that the conservatives wanted something to excite them after this 8-dull-years of Bush’s administration so they jump on anything.

Obama has managed a better campaign and by extension he and his team appears to be better prepared to run the country.

You know with Gov. Palin spending tax payers money on her un-invited family and all the money spent on her clothes and makeup, maybe we should start calling her “SARAH THE FREELOADER”…

The Trickle UP Effect – What may happen if Barack Obama becomes President

A novel theory but it may just be true. Some say that Barack Obama’s roots and background give him the power to inspire people from the lower socio-economic neighborhoods of America, thereby decreasing the burden on government subsidies and programs such as welfare, low-income housing subsidies, head-start programs and the like. This will produce a “Trickle-up effect.” Why “Trickle-Up”? Because the decreased burden will help ease the burden on all taxpayers, include the wealthy when available tax dollars that would have gone to benefit these programs are used to aid programs that benefit all.

Barack Obama’s experience uniquely qualifies him to do more then what most people believe are the bullet-point responsibilities of President of the United States. Obama, a black man, raised by his grandmother and a single mother who is white, having lived through hardships; the same hardships faced by today’s youth who grow up in lower-income neighborhood and having worked his way up to running for President of the United States of America is an inspiring story. It’s inspiring to the boy who plays basketball in the hood, to the single white mother who had her baby too young and sees no bright future for herself or her child. In his speech when he accepted the nomination of the DNC, he called on young fathers to take responsibility for their actions and has inspired millions of youth to get out and vote. As a result, a record number of young voters are coming out to vote. This is what he’s doing by running for President; imagine what he can do as President.

When he does inspire young adults and parents to do more, strive to be more and live better, he will effect change like no other president has been able to do other then maybe John F. Kennedy. This may result in fewer kids doing drugs, more kids going to college and ultimately easing the burden on government programs for teen mothers, anti-gang related programs, and welfare. Who’s this going to help? It will not only help the people who would have received the benefits of these programs but all taxpayers including the wealthy because it will have a Trickle UP Effect. The money used for these programs would in turn go to help cities, with everything from building museums, creating better roadways, and hiring more police to reduce crime.

This may be a lot to expect from Barack Obama but his history of being able to rally people around him to bring about change is so extraordinary that he may just be able to do this.
