I just read your “man up and be a man” article and couldn’t agree more. I am actually helping to raise my nephew who is half African American because his father has been MIA since birth. I try to include him in everything we do with my own son and he is basically like a son to me – and a brother to my blonde haired, blue eyed son – what a pair =). He is such a wonderful and smart child and I can’t even stand to think about how kids like him (of every color) get abandon every day.

He and my son are both in a good Baptist school and his college is already pre-paid (my wife and I pay for it all). Although it really burns my butt that people can just go and have a child and then throw them away for this crazy world to consume and destroy I could not, in good conscience, just leave my nephew to be neglected and without some form of father figure in his life.

I am hopeful you will continue to focus / report on the things that impact the real middle class people in this country. I look forward to your upcoming efforts.

I think the show has gone to a whole new level with you currently filling in. I love the music that is sometimes played as the backdrop to a commericial I love the little dance moves you make. The show is so hip now. It’s a breath of fresh air. You are great…..Nothing against Campbell Brown but like I said you bring the show to a new level. So much has changed in POLITICS…..YES WE DID….and it is nice to see the shows that we watched religiously during the campaing are making some changes to go with the New Era we have entered. ……Best of luck.

I’ve accepted the challenge of the Rev. Jesse L. Jackson, Sr to help develop a national campaign to lobby CNN to give Roland S. Martin his own show on CNN. I’ve started a support page on Facebook for people nationally to join the group and commit to generate calls to CNN. Since joining CNN Roland Martin has brought a new level of Independent political thought that has brought some much needed balance whenever he appears on a guest panel and now as a fill in host. Roland Martin S. Martin has clearly shown to the world his personal and professional best on CNN, and has earned our national support for his own show on CNN.

As a veteran activist and journalist in Chicago, I often had the chance to interact privately and publicly with Roland while he was the morning talk show host on the legendary 24 hour news/talk station WVON-AM 1690, a station that I am also proud to have once served as a producer and talk show host. While Roland has his own Independent opinion, he always was willing to listen to other input and have that input publicly shared. The grassroots community can be assured that their opinions are welcomed and projected by Roland Martin.

The numbers to call to let CNN know that Roland Martin should have his own show are 212-275-7800 in New York and 404-827-1500 in Atlanta. Join The Facebook group, spread the word, and lets collectively make this happen for all those that enjoy and support Roland S. Martin as what his presence has meant and continues to mean for us through his voice on CNN. Again, he has been a good fill in host, but Roland S. Martin deserves his own show on CNN, and it will happen with the national support we seek.

I now really enjoy listening to your opinions and thoughts cause they are always so lively and honest. I think it is great that you have this opportunity over the next 8 weeks to have this program.
I must admit you took some getting used to at first, when I began listening to you on CNN. I used to talk back at you on the tv when I didn’t agree with you, but I realised it was important to really listen to your thoughts as you are always Christian in your expression. I still don’t always agree with you totally but I respect you and your work and thank you for what you give in your witness to say many.

I have seen a lot of changes in my lifetime. However, the conditions of the world right now have not been seen since World War II, except this is much more profound due to technology and instant communication. You have proven yourself to be one of the best in your business. Keep up the great work!!

His recent CNN piece on Pope Benedict’s comments on the distribution of condoms is a perfect example of sophistry. Martin takes a perfectly logical premise, taps into extant anti-Catholic bigotry, and comes off sounding ‘intelligent’ to his fellow liberals. Throwing out that comment about “Catholic priests” is a ‘tell’, what a cheap rhetorical technique.

How pathetic. Trust me, Mr. Martin, Jesus is watching us all. Including you, as you hoist yourself up on your rotting mound of ego.

Sure, we can ‘accept’ that schoolkids are going to ‘do it’ and thus apply apathy to the problem. But when voracious Catholic haters like Martin won’t even allow for the discussion of an alternative, Godly approach, abstinence, to be discussed, and instead vilify (even by proxy, as stated, by tapping into existing anti-Catholic bigotry, noting the priest comment), it speaks more about Mr. Martin and his character than the subject.

Your premise, Mr. Martin is a sham. Christ told the woman not to sin again. In this he clarified the role of the church. The State, that entity can tell sinners how to reduce the risk of accountability for their bad acts. It allows for them to abort babies as they see fit, has a multiplicity of tools, insert this into here, morning after, and so on. It is ungodly to thrust the church into that role.

Congrats on getting your own show – you deserve it. When it comes on the air in April I’ll be watching and looking forward to what you have to say. Love your joyful attitude and comments on the day of the Inaugural and your Texas hat. *smile*

Right on! Right on! I have had it up to my nose with the smelly complaints of those opposing this and that regarding President Obama’s methodologies. Several members on The Hill for the last 8 years, portrayed the cartoon of the “three little monkeys, hear no nothing, see nothing and do nothing”. As result…. Enough said. We all know the good old boy network is good if you are in the network. Guess what? Recess is over. It’s time to get the lesson.

The American people have spoken: “we voted for change”. Those on the opposing side of this change need step back and answer the questions:
1. Where would I be if I was not a politician on The Hill?
2. Where would I be working or gathering unemployment?
3. How would I find the words to inspire my children while taking away the extra-curricular activities or breaking a promise to their children if you earned good grades you could go to any college AND get the car to boot?
4. How do I pay the mortgage, car payment and all the other bills, when I just lost my job AND my retirement?
5. How do I accept the job and move to another state when I can’t sell this house?
6. How do I answer cries from my children on why I have to work thousands miles away, because I was blessed to find a job AND I am trying to keep the lights on at the house?
7. How do we pay for the surgery or keeps a loving one in a “clean, professional” nursing facility?
Yeah!
Ugh! The real fear is what those opposing this “Plan” would have done to get us out of this unbelievable mess. Hummm. Absolutely, nothing!!

This was a nasty fungus growing in a Petri Dish for the last 8 years? Time for the antidote!
Mr. Martin, should you get the ear of Mr. President, Please tell him for me “Go ahead and do the doggone thing.” I heard him when he said, he gets it and I am so glad he does.

Lastly, one thing for certain and two for sure we are ALL going to be educated on the branches of government and the how this country works. I am thankful for the educational cartoons of Schoolhouse Rock…. “Just a bill…sitting on Capital Hill….. Signed into Law”.
