Yall(yes I am from Texas) can say what you want, President Obama did not create this mess..... W did. It is going to take more than a sound bite or 2 and most of his first term to clean this mess up. America needs to be real and patient. Like it or not.... we are all in this together.

I cannot believe that the CBC has been fooled by the Republican Party into thinking that President Obama was elected to be the president of African America. The CBC needs to realize that as a race the majority of African Americans just want EQUALITY OF OPPORTUNITY, which is what Dr. King and others fought and died for. I was unemployed immediately after the election last year, thanks to the PRESIDENT OF THESE UNITED STATES, I was given an extension on the number of weeks that I was allowed to receive unemployment benefits, and was also given a break on the amount that I had to pay to continue my health insurance through COBRA. All of this was done through legislation signed by President Obama. My niece and nephew were able to take advantage of legislation that allowed them to keep there homes. MY FAMILY AND I ARE ALL AFRICAN AMERICANS.
I am a cancer survivor and am also being treated for rhematoid arthritis, so I really needed a break or I would not have been able to continue with my health care.
Mr. Martin, I am surprised that you have turned so quickly. The President needs to remind America that his administration will not be able to fix in eleven months, what President Bush created in eight years. America has forgotten (quickly). And Mr. Martin, please tell me that you have not joined the naysayer party, the likes of Tavis Smiley.

Mr. Corbin,

You must know something I don't, didn't realize that an African man had been elected to President of the United States. As I understood it an African man would not be eligible for that office.

You may now respond with oh I ment African American. Ok if that is true then could you please give me the definition of "African American" or maybe what the qualifications are to be considered an "African American".

So many people in this country support and voted for a man based solely on his skin color. Who really cares what color his skin is, if he meets the criteria set forth by our laws, is qualified and voted into the office then so be it.

Would we be so up in arms if an albino man had run and been elected? Is it not about time to stop looking at a persons skin color and just get to know the person? I'm so sick and tired of people continuing to stir this race pot and of course the media feeds right into it and keeps the subject moving.

Please do educate me with the definition and qualifications for being an "African American" though I am truly interrested.

Kind regards,

David Luley

The CBC has been used and misused by the Republicans for decades and now we have elected our
first African President, they want him to change all the wrongs past and present overnight during
his first year in office. If the CBC decides to join the Republicans again, they will live to regret it.

They must support President Obama NOW or pay for it later. This is the only President in recent
history that is sincerely trying to help all people in America and that includes African American.
If the 10 CBC members can't see the big picture ALL of THEM SHOULD leave the White House now,
so the we the people can find suitable replacements.

All I am saying is to give our President the same respect and consideration during his first term in
office that you have already given the last 3 Presidents before him.
Sincerely'
Leon Corbin
