This was a terrible tragedy!! I feel like more could have been done to help her in her later years after she became ill. Whether she wanted the help or not. Especially from her son there is no excuse. Now that she is gone we need to focus on her acheivements that she accomplished during the era that was so tough for blacks to break through. I did not know of her until this tragedy but, I am proud to know that she made HISTORY in my home state of South Carolina and that will never be forgotten. Ms.Goggins story really gave me inspiration to continue what I am doing to make a difference in South Carolina's school system. May her soul (RIP).
