Roland talks with Tiani Jones reporter for WKRN TV in Nashville about how the floods have affected African-American communities. Jones details that the response in African-American communities was slow. Shelters were not set up in some areas for at least 3 days after the flood.
24 deaths have been reported and there are a number of people still missing. 41 counties have been declared disaster zones. The governor is asking to have 50 counties declared disaster zones. According to Jones Washington has been doing a good job getting areas declared as disaster zones so that people can get federal relief help.
People who need help should Call 1-800-621-FEMA to apply for federal aid.
