TJMS: Roland Martin Talks with New Orleans Mayor, Mitch Landrieu About BP Hearings, Oil Spill

Roland Martin talks with New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu about the BP Congressional hearings. Mayor Landrieu states that some of the testimony was astounding. The lack of intensity in the comments of BP officials was startling. The comments by Rep. Barton are jaw dropping.
Mayor Landrieu explains that people’s livelihoods are at stake, we must stay focused on what happened. Landrieu said, “BP through horrific action, blew that well, killed eleven people, injured seven-teen, and is now threatening the lives of hundreds of thousands of people and really threatening America’s national security”.
Landrieu states that right now people should be focused on closing the hole. “Every hour of everybody’s day should be spent on closing that hole, because every consequential damage flows from that. The oil that’s in the ground has to be captured. That is where we have to focus our attention because that is what’s threatening the livelihoods of the people down on the Coast”.
