TJMS: Bishop E. W. Jackson, Sr., President of S.T.A.N.D. Talks Tea Party, Bush Tax Cuts and Unemployment Benefits
Roland Martin talks with Bishop E. W. Jackson, Sr., President of S.T.A.N.D., which is based on restoring Judao-Christian values in the United States and bringing people together across racial and cultural lines.
Bishop Jackson is a Tea Party supporter and his organization is completely independent of the Tea Party. Jackson states that he condemns Mark Williams’ statements and goes on to say that Williams does not speak for him, S.T.A.N.D. and does not speak for the Tea Party.
Bishop Jackson discusses where the Tea Party was when President George W. Bush was running up mass amounts of debt. Jackson says that conservative America was profoundly unhappy with President Bush and felt that “… he had gone off the reservation, particularly with regard to spending and the 2006 election was an indication of great displeasure with him…” Bishop Jackson also explain that government spending issues began under President Bush and that President Barack Obama seems to be on a spending spree which seems to have no limit.
Roland and Bishop Jackson also discuss Republicans being in favor of the Bush tax cuts but are against extending unemployment benefits for the jobless.
