It is not always about white/black race relations. Now, blacks have to worry about their own race siding with whites when they feel threatened by an intelligent black person coming up in the work-force. I know about a situation where a person went in for an interview for a higher position at her job and she was asked a question like "How has your experience been with this company?" Anyhow, she went into detail about the intimidating and back-biting in the office. Do you know that nine days later she was fired? They gave her a termination letter stating that it was disrespectful and inappropriate. To add insult to insult to injury the new black supervisor went into the office and told management that she did not trust the worker. She had never been reprimanded and her performance evaluation were excellent. So, its not just about white/black. You have to contend with retaliation from your own race.
