Authorities in Atlanta have arrested the suspect in a three-state serial stabbing spree that resulted in at least 20 attacks and five deaths, many in Michigan.
Customs and Border Patrol stopped the man Wednesday night at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, where the man was preparing board a Delta flight to Tel Aviv, and the Atlanta Police Department took him into custody.
Investigative leads prompted CBP officers to check the flight manifest where they found his name, CBS News correspondent Bob Orr reports.
Virginia police were cautious not to say that the man arrested Wednesday is definitely the suspect in the stabbings. “While this is a key step in the investigation, there are still many issues that need to be addressed before we identify this individual as the person responsible for this horrific crime spree,” the Leesburg statement said.
