An Iowa egg producer is recalling 228 million eggs after being linked to an outbreak of salmonella poisoning.
The CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) said the eggs came from Wright County Egg in Galt, Iowa. Several people became ill in Colorado, California and Minnesota. According to the CDC nearly 200 cases of the cases reported were linked to eggs consumed during June and July.
The eggs in question were distributed throughout the country packaged under the names Lucerne, Albertson, Mountain Dairy, Ralph’s, Boomsma’s, Sunshine, Hillandale, Trafficanda, Farm Fresh, Shoreland, Lund, Dutch Farms and Kemp.
The FDA is currently investigating the outbreak.
