The oil spill in the gulf is just an awful reminder of the devastation that blighted the Gulf Coast just five years ago, Hurricane Katrina. An event that changed the landscape in hours is still being felt today — from untold deaths to millions displaced, Katrina has forever transformed the gulf coast and Black folks.

On Sunday at 11am(ET), Roland Martin returns to the scene of one of the United States worst natural disasters for a special episode of Washington Watch where he’ll talk to the people and politicians on the ground. What has changed and what still NEEDS to change? What does the BP oil spill mean for an area still digging its way up to normal? And most importantly, what can WE do about it.

Join Roland as he speaks with actor/activist Wendell Pierce (The Wire. ‘treme), New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu, New Orlean Saints head coach Sean Peyton and more to get the truth behind life after Katrina.

WATCH WASHINGTON WATCH SUNDAY AT 11am(ET).
