TJMS: Attorney BJ Bernstein Discusses Lawsuits Filed Against Bishop Eddie Long

Roland Martin talks to BJ Bernstein, the attorney for the two men who have filed a lawsuit against New Birth Missionary Baptist Church Pastor, Bishop Eddie Long.

In this particular lawsuit Bernstein details Bishop Long sexually coerced the two young men as well as other young men related to the church. Roland asks Bernstein when did she become involved in this case and when are the plaintiffs stating the sexual acts took place.

Bernstein told Roland she got involved a few weeks ago after she got a phone call from one of the young men involved in the case. She explained that once she spoke with the boys she decided to get involved. Bernstein explained that her first reaction was not to “just go file a lawsuit” but to call federal authorities. She said, “I was shaken by the seriousness of these allegations.”

According to Bernstein the families of the two men moved to the area just to join the church and got to know Bishop Long through the Longfellow Academy starting when they were 14 years old. By the time they where 17 years old, according to Bernstein, Bishop Long started to change and “move toward more sexual contact. Including moving one of the young men into a home owned by a church member where certain acts occurred.”

Bernstein discusses the two young men being put on New Birth Missionary Baptist Church’s payroll and the various sexual acts alleged in the lawsuit.

i love it when GOD BRINGS the false preacher's HIDDEN sins to light.. Now if Pastor Long didn't adopt these two young “BOYS” not men but “BOYS” from his mentoring program, why was there so much physical contact with them.. IF he lavished them with gifts and with a trip to New Zealand and money, and cars, and things such as these, who does that?? For MEN usually do these type of things to win the heart of a woman for INTIMATE sexual relationships.. So what was Pastor Long's MOTIVATION for giving to ONLY THESE TWO BOYS? did he see A sexual sign that these two boys had gay tendencies? why DIDN'T HE give any of these LUXURIES to the REST of the boys in his mentoring program? I have a feeling many other boys may come forth too. for GOD is tired of these PROSPERITY preachers, fooling the people and living lavish lifestyles promising INCREASE, while the elderly are duped into choosing betwen buying needed medications and rent or giving the PREACHER their money to SOW A SEED for the need. This is a BIBLICAL LIE! God never asked us to pay for our BLESSINGS!! JESUS never required this and neither did his God or my God.. I pray that if this is true, THAT SOME TYPE OF CRIMINAL action is found to remove Bishop Long from the ministries of God!
