TJMS: Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal Continues Efforts To Merge Southern University of New Orleans With The University Of New Orleans

Roland Martin talks with NAFEO President & CEO Lezli Baskerville about LA Governor Bobby Jindal is pushing for Southern University of New Orleans and the University of New Orleans to become one college. Critics have cited merging the two universities would restrict college access to the poor and would represent the first effort to shutdown HBCUs in Louisiana.

New employment numbers came out Friday showing the economy continues to recover and continues to add jobs at a pretty healthy pace. There were 233,000 private-sector jobs created in February.
