Country music singer Hank Williams Jr. compared President Obama to Adolph Hitler in an awkward interview Monday morning on Fox and Friends. Williams called the golf summit the president had with Speaker of the House John Boehner “one of the biggest political mistakes ever.” “It would be like Hitler playing golf with Netanyahu, OK?”

Williams appeared on the program to share his thoughts on politics, but the segment got weird early on as the country music star curiously sulked with his arms crossed.

Anchor Gretchen Carlson asked Williams who he liked in the GOP race, which he replied “Nobody.” A shocked Steve Doocy exclaimed, “Nobody!?”

This triggered Williams to bash Obama and Boehner’s golf game and compare the president to Hitler. All three Fox and Friends anchors sat nonplussed in utter bewilderment.

”Yeah, I don’t understand that analogy, actually,” responded a perplexed Brian Kilmeade.

“Well, I’m glad you don’t, brother, because a lot of people do,” Williams snapped. “You know, they’re the enemy. They’re the enemy.” Kilmeade was thrown for a loop. “Who’s the enemy?”

“Obama!” Williams thundered.

This past Sunday the Washington Post published a lengthy report on a family camping site rented by Texas Governor Rick Perry that went by the name N*ggerhead Rock. The article goes in great detail asking legitimate questions surrounding the camp, and includes contains a denunciation by Perry, but also seems to find the embattled GOP candidate guilty by association for what is suggested to be tolerance of the offensive name.

Last night CNN’s Don Lemon very carefully reported on the story then asked fellow panelists if the Perry campaign can recover from even being associated from this story.

Lemon introduced this story with the same surgical tact that a bomb defuser might approach an unmarked package left in a Times Square subway stop. In fairness to all involved in this story, the WaPo story was built around numerous anonymous sources and it’s still too early in this story’s life cycle to truly understand its scale and potential political impact. This could blow up and kill a career, or could be a dud. Only more facts will reveal from which fire this smoke appears to be emanating.

A week ago, Washington, D.C., was buzzing as the Congressional Black Caucus held their annual legislative conference. It’s a big event with panels and parties, but a lot of serious talk about the employment disaster in the Black community. Our “Washington Watch” cameras captured a lot of the action, including their town hall meeting on jobs and the economy.

I totally get this whole sense of protecting the President, not wanting to have any criticism against him, so you don’t hear it on Rush Limbaugh and on Fox News. I totally understand that. But the question is, will Black people lose our moral authority to speak to the issues that we care about?

The lesson we can learn from Dr. King is that he understood that Pres. Kennedy was an ally. He understood that Pres. Lyndon Baines Johnson was an ally. Dr. King also understood that the Black agenda should never be compromised and subjected to who is in the Oval Office.

Pat Buchanan endorsed Herman Cain’s controversial claim that black voters have been “brainwashed” into voting Democratic — and, on Thursday, he added some very controversial opinions of his own to the mix.

On Wednesday, Cain told CNN that black voters “have been brainwashed into not being open-minded, not even considering a conservative point of view.” The comment received a lot of attention, and MSNBC’s Martin Bashir asked Buchanan about it on his Thursday show. Buchanan said he wholeheartedly approved.

“I think what he’s saying is they bought a lot of liberal propaganda on the liberal plantation and I think he’s right!” Buchanan replied staunchly.

Virginia Girl Gets Alcohol Poisoning After Ingesting Hand Sanitizer at School: MyFoxDC.com

An angry father wonders why his 7-year-old girl was able to drink enough hand sanitizer to put her in the hospital with alcohol poisoning.

Christy Grant, a second grader at Neabsco Elementary School in Dale City, Va. was unconscious and unresponsive when she was rushed from school to the hospital, Grant’s father told My Fox DC.

“She gave us a story. Somebody dared her. She did the dare,” Glen Grant said. “Under supervision, this would have never happened.”

A Neabsco Elementary official told My Fox DC that Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act laws prevent the school from commenting on the incident.

East Tremont – The death of a 3-year-old girl in the Bronx has been ruled a homicide, and a manhunt is under way for her stepfather.

India Durant was discovered unconscious and pronounced dead at St. Barnabus Hospital.

Police say the incident appears to be a tragic case of child abuse after the medical examiner ruled that India died of blunt force trauma to the chest and other internal injuries.

The stepfather, who identity has not been released, is the one called 911 to report that the girl was unconscious inside the apartment. He apparently told police she had fallen out of a chair, but the medical examiner said the girl’s injuries were inconsistent with that type of fall.

Washington – In announcing the “new reality” it must face, the financially troubled Postal Service said Thursday it may close more than 250 mail processing facilities across the country and plans to reduce service standards for first-class mail in an effort to cut costs.

Such a change would mean that a letter mailed with a first-class stamp would take longer to arrive at its destination, increasing delivery time from a minimum of one day to two days, the service said.

The steps are part of a broad effort to cut costs for the agency that lost $8.5 billion last year and is facing ever more red ink this year as the Internet siphons off the lucrative first-class mail and the stagnant economy holds down the growth of advertising mail. Over the last five years mail volume has declined by more than 43 billion items.

Postal officials said 252 mail processing facilities across the country will be reviewed over the next three months for possible closing. Currently there are 487 such offices. That’s in addition to about 3,700 local post offices also being reviewed for closure. Closing the mail-processing facilities could affect 35,000 workers.

Detroit – There’s been a positive development in the story of Texana Hollis, the 101-year-old woman evicted from her home . She will now get her southwest Detroit home back after a heartbreaking ordeal.

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, also known as HUD asked a 36th District Court Officer to go to the home and remove the locks that were put on the house on Monday. Texana will now be able to return to her house on Carbondale.

The 101-year-old is, however, currently in the hospital. She was rushed by ambulance to Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit on Monday night. She was suffering from severe anxiety after being evicted from the home she had lived in for 58 years.

The NAACP and Amnesty International on Thursday will deliver petitions with thousands of signatures seeking clemency for convicted killer Troy Davis to the Georgia Board of Pardons and Paroles.

Davis, 42, is set to be executed on September 21 for the murder an off-duty Savannah police officer more than two decades ago.

Since Davis’ conviction in 1991, seven of the nine witnesses against him have recanted their testimony. No physical evidence was presented linking Davis to the killing of the policeman.

The rights groups contend there is too much doubt about Davis’ conviction to let the execution proceed.

“Troy Davis could very well be innocent,” Amnesty International says on its website.

Mom Loses Job After Kidney Donation: MyFoxPHILLY.com

After using up her vacation days to take care of her dying mother, Claudia Rendon took a leave of absence from her job to donate a kidney to her sick son. But, when she was well enough to return to work, Rendon found out she had been replaced, myfoxphilly.com reports.

“Everything was coming down all at once,” Caludia Rendon told Fox 29. “I felt like the best thing that happened to me this whole entire year was that God gave me the blessing of being able to give my son my kidney.”

After taking time off to take care of her ailing mother who recently passed away, Rendon’s father was diagnosed with leukemia, her father died and her son’s kidneys started to fail. Without hesitation, Rendon decided to take a leave of absence from her job at the Aviation Institute Of Maintenance, in Northeast Philadelphia. Her boss forced her to sign an agreement saying that her job wouldn’t be guaranteed on return. When Rendon tried to get her job back last week, her supervisor showed her the door.

The NBA fined Michael Jordan $100,000 for public comments he made last month about the lockout and one of the league’s players, according to sources with knowledge of the situation.

NBA spokesman Tim Frank confirmed that Jordan had been fined, but said the league would not comment on the total.

In an Aug. 19 interview with The Herald Sun, a newspaper in Australia, the Charlotte Bobcats owner spoke extensively about the need for revenue sharing and mentioned Milwaukee Bucks’ Australian center Andrew Bogut.

That violated the league’s policy that bars team owners and employees from discussing the lockout or any players during the work stoppage. The NBA sent out a league-wide memo just before the lockout began on July 1 stating that anyone who broke the rules could be fined up to $1 million.

Jordan, who along with Bucks owner Herb Kohl recently lobbied other owners to support revenue sharing, told The Herald Sun: “We need a lot of financial support throughout the league as well as revenue sharing to keep this business afloat.

“We have stars like Bogut who are entitled to certain type of demands. But for us to be profitable in small markets, we have to be able to win ballgames and build a better basketball team.”

Washington – President Barack Obama will take to the Rose Garden on Monday to make a pitch for his jobs creation plan and announce he is sending it to Congress later that evening, the White House said.

Obama will be joined by teachers, veterans, small-business owners and others who would benefit from the American Jobs Act’s passage, the White House said Sunday.

Obama hit the road Friday to rally public support for the plan, calling it critical to efforts to invigorate an ailing economy and avert a new downturn.

“This has been a terrible recession,” the president told an enthusiastic crowd at the University of Richmond in Virginia. “You expect action, and you deserve it right now.”

The president’s remarks came a day after he unveiled his $447 billion proposal to a sharply divided Congress amid growing fears of a new economic downturn.

This week, CBS Evening News has visited all three sites of the 9/11 attacks. On Friday, it reported from what has been known as Ground Zero. But after a commemoration Sunday, it may be known by its new name — the National September 11th Memorial. Anchor Scott Pelley went down for an early look at the magnificent centerpiece.

Two granite pools with waterfalls spread out across the World Trade Center plaza — one for each fallen tower. Each of them is an acre in size. The water glides down 30 feet.

Pelley got a look of the memorial with Chris Ward, executive director of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey — the agency that owns the site and oversees the rebuilding.

Washington – Just days before the 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks, U.S. counterterrorism officials were chasing a credible but unconfirmed al Qaeda threat to use a car bomb on bridges or tunnels in New York City or Washington. It was the first “active plot” timed to coincide with the somber commemoration of the terror group’s 9/11 attacks a decade ago that killed nearly 3,000 people.

Counterterrorism officials were investigating the threat throughout the night and into Friday, as police in New York and Washington said they would increase their already stepped-up staffing levels in light of the recent intelligence.

The threat originated from Pakistan and what remains of al Qaeda’s core leadership, including its new head Ayman al Zawahiri, reports CBS News homeland security correspondent Bob Orr. A U.S. official told Orr the original intelligence source provided enough specifics relating to locations, dates, methods and operatives to suggest that “it is more than ‘aspirational.’”

The intelligence suggested that al Qaeda planned to car bomb one or both of the two cities that were hit 10 years ago.

But the threats remain unconfirmed, and there is a full court press by the FBI, CIA and others to refute or corroborate the information.

Police are investigating the death of an Arkansas man whose naked body was allegedly found next to a sleeping TV weatherman in a hot tub after a night of drinking and drugs.

The owner of the home awoke Monday morning to find the body of 24-year-old Dexter Williams at the bottom of an empty tub, his face blue and purple and a chain resembling a dog collar around his neck, according to a Maumelle Police report.

Asleep next to him was KARK meteorologist Brett Cummins, 33, who had arrived at Christopher Barbour’s home outside Little Rock accompanied by Williams around 8 p.m. on Sunday, Barbour told police.

The three drank and snorted drugs, though Barbour told police he did not know what kind, Officer Gregory Roussie said in a report. The three continued drinking in the hot tub until Barbour retired for the night around 11 p.m., falling asleep on his couch.

Maumelle Police and fire rescue arrived at the home around 8:10 a.m. and found Williams’ body in the tub with blood pooling around his head, Sergeant David Collins said in a report. In the master bedroom he found a pill bottle next to a pair of khaki cargo shorts on a storage ottoman at the foot of the bed.

Washington - President Barack Obama will include some new proposals in the package of job creation measures he unveils Thursday night in a speech to a joint session of Congress, White House spokesman Jay Carney told CNN.

“There will be some new ideas that you haven’t heard from us before that are part of the baskets, part of the areas, in terms of tax relief and infrastructure spending, assistance to communities to help rebuild their schools, assistance to states to help retain teachers so teachers aren’t laid off,” Carney said on CNN’s “American Morning.”

The legislation, called the American Jobs Act, will be submitted to Congress early next week, along with a provision to pay for all of the proposals, Carney said.

Dick Cheney would like to see Hillary Clinton run for president against Barack Obama. “So far she hasn’t said she would, but I think it’s not a bad idea,” the former vice president told ABC News’ Jonathan Karl in an interview Wednesday.

“Hillary Clinton is a pretty formidable individual,” Cheney said. “I think she’s probably the most competent person they’ve got in their cabinet. And, frankly, I thought she was gonna win the nomination last time around.”

“Maybe if the Obama record is bad enough — and these days it’s not very good, given the shape of the economy — maybe there will be enough ferment in the Democratic Party so that there will be a primary on their side.”

That doesn’t mean Cheney would be voting for Clinton, however. A Democratic primary “might even help the Republicans a little bit,” Cheney told Karl with a smile.

Washington — Doctors, drugmakers, hospitals and health insurers have spent millions over the years wooing lawmakers who now are on the powerful congressional panel charged with finding a formula to control deficits and debt, a new analysis finds.

Those very same industries would get hit hard if the supercommittee succeeds.

The industry campaign contributions, compiled by the nonpartisan Center for Responsive Politics, reinforce doubts that the 12-member panel will issue a sweeping plan to curb federal spending, an equation that can’t be solved without major Medicare and Medicaid cuts.

Jackson, Mississippi - The family of an African-American man who was killed when he was beaten and run over with a truck has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against a group of teens alleged to have been present at the time of the attack.

The lawsuit — filed Tuesday in a Mississippi district court — alleges that seven white teenagers “set out on a mission” to find and harass African-Americans.

The lawsuit, filed by Anderson’s sister, mother and two brothers, seeks a jury trial and damages. It names not only the two teens facing criminal charges in the incident but others who, the suit alleges, acted as lookouts and prevented Anderson from escaping.

The death of James Craig Anderson, 48, occurred early June 26 in Jackson, Mississippi — allegedly at the hands of white teens who, after a night of partying and drinking, decided to “go fuck with some n*****s,” police said.

“Fox and Friends” anchor Gretchen Carlson and Democratic National Committee Debbie Wasserman Schultz had a heated clash on Tuesday morning over comments a union leader made at President Obama’s Labor Day rally.

Teamsters president Jimmy Hoffa got a lot of applause in Detroit when he said of the Tea Party, “let’s take these son-of-a-bitches out and give America back to America where we belong.” President Obama was not present for Hoffa’s comments, but conservatives quickly pounced, asking the White House to condemn Hoffa. The White House has so far refused to issue any statement on the controversy, and Wasserman Schultz followed the same playbook when she spoke to Carlson.

Her appearance was ostensibly about Obama’s upcoming jobs announcement, but Carlson steered the conversation towards Hoffa.

Bastrop, Texas – Wildfires continued to rage Tuesday in Texas, forcing the evacuation of hundreds of homes near Austin and Houston as firefighters struggled to gain the upper hand against flames, winds and fatigue.

“Texas is in a difficult situation right now and our priorities are pretty simple. Number one is to protect life at all costs,” said Nim Kidd, chief of the state Division of Emergency Management.

The state’s forest service has responded to 181 fires that have burned more than 118,400 acres over the last week, according to the Texas Forest Service.

The fires have killed two and, according to the Forest Service, destroyed more than 700 homes since Sunday. Perry said 1,000 homes had burned, but he appeared to be referring to the 1,091 homes the state Forest Service reported had burned since the fire season began in November 2010.

Michele Bachmann campaign manager Ed Rollins is stepping into an advisory role and deputy manager David Polyansky is leaving the campaign, Rollins said Monday.

Rollins, who’s 68 and had a stroke a year and a half ago, cited health reasons for his decision.

“I just don’t have the endurance to go 12 to 14 hours a day, seven days a week anymore,” Rollins told CNN’s Anderson Cooper on Monday.

Rollins said he still has great affection for Bachmann and pledged to give her counsel moving forward.

Washington – President Barack Obama requested time Wednesday to deliver an economic address to a joint session of Congress on the evening of September 7 — a prime-time platform to unveil his long-awaited jobs proposal.

The speech is set to be delivered at 8 p.m. ET.

“Our nation faces unprecedented economic challenges, and millions of hardworking Americans continue to look for jobs,” Obama said in a letter sent to House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nevada.

Washington – An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 5.9 struck Tuesday near the nation’s capital and sent shock waves up and down the East Coast.

“It’s one of the largest that we’ve had there,” said U.S. Geological Survey seismologist Lucy Jones. Aftershocks were a concern, she said. “People should be expecting (them), especially over the next hour or two,” she added.

There were no immediate reports of injuries, and only minor damage to buildings was reported.

Libyan rebels claimed to be in control of most of the Libyan capital on Monday after their lightning advance on Tripoli heralded the fall of Moammar Gadhafi’s nearly 42-year regime. Scattered battles erupted, and the mercurial leader’s whereabouts remained unknown.

The 69-year-old leader, urging civilians to take up arms against rebel “rats,” said in an audio broadcast that he was in the city and would be “with you until the end.” But there was little sign of popular opposition to the rebel offensive.

Three of Gadhafi’s sons — Saif, Mohammed, and most recently, according to Al Arabiyah, Saadi — were captured by the rebels, but there has been no sign of the dictator.

Pentagon spokesman Colonel Dave Lapan said the United States believes Gadhafi is still in Libya, but he did not offer further detail on Gadhafi’s presumed whereabouts.
