“Washington Watch” specifically traveled to Port Sulphur, Louisiana to tell the story of African-Americans who have been greatly impacted by the oil disaster. Many of the people in Port Sulphur are fishermen and their whole livelihood depends upon the water of the east banks of the Mississippi River.
In this special edition of “Washington Watch,” we will cover several different issues, including the personal stories of third generational fishermen and what they have to deal with as a result of the oil disaster. We will also talk about the mental and health issues that have manifested as a result of the oil spill.
We will also talk with a number of officials, including the Rev. Jesse Jackson Sr. and Marc Morial, CEO of the National Urban League about what they are doing to help the people in the Gulf Coast.
All that and more in this week’s special edition of the “Washington Watch” Video Podcast.
