In this special edition of “Washington Watch” from New Orleans, we’ll meet people working hard to regain their way of life including the principal of St. Augustine High School, Don Boucree. We talked with two businessmen, Wardell Bourgeois and Kevin Rodney who detail life before and after Katrina. Plus actor and activist Wendell Pierce discusses rebuilding Pontratrain Park.

We begin with our newsmaker interview with New Orleans Mayor, Mitch Landrieu. Then in our “Washington Watch” journalist roundtable, we speak with Gerrod Stephen, host of the Gerrod Stephen Show, Kim Bondy former CNN Executive, founder and CEO of the media production company, The Bondy Group, Jarvis DeBerry, editorial writer and columnist for the New Orleans Times Picayune and Fox-8 news reporter, Sabrina Wilson.

During our education panel discussion we talked about the future of education in New Orleans with the principal of St. Augustine High School, Don Boucree, Tyra Newell of New Leaders for New Schools and Dr. Andre Perry from the University of New Orleans.

Also in this special edition of “Washington Watch” we speak with New Orleans Saint’s Head Coach, Sean Payton. Payton discusses how the Saints and the City of New Orleans helped each other in the five years after Katrina.
